Heart & Help is a boutique care agency to enable the disabled, elderly, ill and injured to access social care and reduce social isolation.
Who are our companion carers?
We register companion carers (support workers) who are…
- Like a friend and provide a helping hand in life.
- Local people who enjoy spending time with you.
- They are dedicated to building relationships and know the power of social care.
What Screening do they go through?
They are vetted, police checked, interviewed and onboarded so they understand our requirements. This includes the following:
- An online values test ( to ensure support workers are aligned with us to reduce social isolation and loneliness through support work)
- A Face-to-Face Interview (may be run remotely or in person to comply with COVID safety requirements)
- Reference Checks
- Police and/or NDIS checks
What qualifications do they have?
We expect them to be committed to fight against social isolation and loneliness and help others. Many of our companion carers have various qualifications such as:
- First Aid Certification
- Cert III in Community Services, Aged Care or Disability Services
- Bachelor Degrees in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Allied Health Professions etc.
What services do they provide?
- Companionship
- Basic Personal Care ( non skilled)
- Community Access Support
- Skills Training
- Meal Preparation
- Light Housework
- Running Errands
- Transportation
- Light gardening
- Assistance with Sports and Exercise
We cannot provide Skilled Personal Care or Medical care. We do not offer professional services such as cleaning, renovation, repairs, removals, or gardening.
