Who is Heart & Help?

Heart & Help is a boutique care agency to  enable the disabled, elderly, ill and injured to access social care and reduce social isolation. 

Who are our companion carers?
We register  companion carers (support workers) who are… 
  • Like a friend and provide a helping hand in life.
  • Local people who enjoy spending time with you.
  • They are dedicated to building relationships and know the power of social care. 

What Screening do they go through?
They are vetted, police checked, interviewed and onboarded so they understand our requirements.  This includes the following:
  • An online values test ( to ensure support workers are aligned with us to reduce social isolation and loneliness through support work)
  • A Face-to-Face Interview (may be run remotely or in person to comply with COVID safety requirements)
  • Reference Checks
  • Police and/or NDIS checks

What qualifications do they have?
We expect them to be committed to fight against social isolation and loneliness and  help others. Many  of our companion carers have various  qualifications such as:  
  • First Aid Certification
  • Cert III in Community Services, Aged Care or Disability Services
  • Bachelor Degrees in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Allied Health Professions etc. 

What services do they provide?

  • Companionship
  • Basic Personal Care ( non skilled)

  • Running Errands 
  • Transportation
  • Light gardening
  • Assistance with Sports and Exercise

We cannot provide Skilled Personal Care or Medical care. We do not offer professional services such as cleaning, renovation, repairs, removals, or gardening. 

What clients do you work with?

We  help the elderly, those living with disabilities, or recuperating from illness, injury or surgery and also veterans and busy families. We work with  privately funded clients, Home Care Package clients  and NDIS participants who are self and plan managed. We also work with NDIS LACs and support coordinators and case managers.

Can I speak to somebody first?

Yes, please contact us on our website contact us details. We offer complimentary consultations where we find out about your needs to make personalised  matches with our Helpers. However, it’s still your choice who you want to work with. You’re in control of deciding how you want things done. 

Can you tailor support services to my needs?

Yes, we offer flexible support services.  We focus support around your needs.  

Can I use my Aged Care Home Care Plan?

You can use your Aged Care Home Care Plan to fund to pay for support if you’re self-managed or your package administrator will agree to work with our independent care providers. Please ask us.

What do I do if I don’t have a Home Care Package?

You don’t need a Home Care Package to use our services as we accept private payments (out of  pocket). If you are waiting for a Home Care Package, which can take several months, we can help  provide you with care for now. If you are looking for a Home Care Package, go to myagedcare.gov.au 

How can I learn about the NDIS? (National Disability Insurance Scheme)

What type of NDIS participants can use Heart & Help services?

We work with self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants.

Post hospital stay welcome home packages?

Yes, we can offer customised support services, depending on your request, for before you go to hospital, during your stay and upon returning home.  

Which veteran clients can you work with?

We support veterans who pay privately.
